   Its a story of a poor but principled writer, Gopal (Dharmendra) married to a rich woman ,Shanta (Waheeda Rehman) who leaves her ,after getting publicly humiliated.The woman raises their child who grows up be a bright young woman, Santosh (Jaya Bhaduri). Santosh falls in love with Dr. Suman (Vijay Arora) and marries him.
   Shanta moves in with her daughter and son-in-law but soon her presence starts interfering in their marriage. During this time, Gopal is searched for by Shanta's uncle. In the end, after all these years of anonymity, Gopal returns and Shanta and Gopal are reunited.
   The movie is melodramatic, has good music and is a good family entertainment.
