    The story is about a young man, Karan who gets to know that is father  ,whom he had been told was dead, is alive and is in jail. He goes to meet him and finds out that he is innocent but the evidences were fabricated and put against him. Karan tries to study the 15 year old murder mystery and find out the evidence that will acquit his father.During this he meets Asha who happens to be a reporter. They fall in love. Karan succeeds in finding the evidence to solve the mystery and finally is able to exonerate his father with the help of Asha and her newspaper.
    Madhubala's beauty and Dev Anand's acting adds up to the script along with the beautiful songs especially the Rafi-Asha duo in the song "accha ji me haari chalo maan jao na" , Asha's "nazar lagi raja tore bangale par" and Rafi's "Hum bekhudi mein".
