"suhana safar aur yeh mausam haseen, hume darr hai hum kho na jaye kahin..." a line we wish to accomplish when you delve into this blog where the tryst is to ink down great movies and good songs. Hope you enjoy as we do. :)
A beautiful song from the movie "Gumnaam" where seven people try to survive in an stranded place with the hilarious Mehmood as butler. The song is melodious after the haunting music that preludes it :) Beautiful Nanda and charming Manoj Kumar adds to the beauty of the song.
जननी जन्मभूमिश्च स्वर्गादपि गरीयसी "Mother and motherland are superior to the Heaven."
This is a bengali song penned by Nachiketa about the present tragedy where the progeny leave their parents at old age homes. Its a light verse which relates a parent's present scenario in a satirical tone, his reminiscence of his love towards his son and finally he expresses his desire of revenge in a playful tone.
( My son is a big man, a big officer is seen around in posh flat, here and there likes various things, has many elegant taste of all that,I seemed invaluable,a waste my son,for me ,holds high regard I was left, thus, at the old age home's guard )

( my son's son is now two years old when he reaches 25,I pray to god now I am 60,to live 100 years,I pine 25 years hence my son would be 59 small, this house maybe ;space, there is lot I and my son,we will live together,in this plot to my heart's delight,I dream, walking that road face to face,I ,He and this old age abode. )
On this auspicious occasion I would like to share a sweet, cheerful song where Biswajeet with his ever-smiling face tries to wheedle Asha Parekh. Love is in the air and so be it; all-pervading and omnipresent. Eid mubarak once again. Enjoy :)
"Beware of the ides of March " was what Caesar was warned of, for us its the ides of August, the day when we give a blind eye to all the problems excoriating this "sone ki chidiya" .With problems sprouting from every field be it health or wealth, native or foreign, sports or education, government or bureaucrats or even commoners. The dilemma lies in the fact that we are fighting against ourselves .
"majadhaar mein naiyyaa doobe, to majhee paar lagaaye
maajhee jo naaw duboye use kaun bachaaye? ".
The post is not intended to belittle the occasion, its euphoria, the experience of coexistence ,the pride on singing the national anthem or the goose flesh we have on hearing "ae mere watan ke logo". The song is a call to the leaders. "tu idhar udhar ki na baat kar,yeh bataa kaafila kyun loota, mujhe rahjano se gila nahi, teri rahbari par sawaal hai"

Each couplet speaks of an earnest effort from a lover to his beloved to comeback for whatsoever reasons.Heartfelt request, captivatingly weaved into couplets.
The couplets have many renditions in voices of the likes of Mehdi Hassan, Runa Laila, etc. <The english translation is an earnest effort from me ,so please do correct me,wherever required>
aaj main hoon jahan kal koi aur tha .. aaj main hoon jahan kal koi aur tha
Ye bhi ek daur hai woh bhi ek daur tha
Romantic cinemas in India were since forever, and actors like Dev Anand, Dileep Kumar were established as some of the best romantic actors. But none of them gave romance a new height of fun, energy and sensuality like Rajesh Khanna. His charm onscreen and off screen was so enchanting that screaming women used to line the streets as he drove by, his car would have to be cleaned of lipstick marks every morning, countless female fans "married" photographs of him, applying sindoor with their own blood, and there were threats of suicide when he married the 16 year old Dimple Kapadia .
Here is Rajesh Khanna giving his inspiring speech to the youth of Indian Film Academy where he told that there is no alternative to hardwork and patience.
The one who taught not only how to live, but also how to die gracefully. The legendary role of 'Anand' was Kaka's real life story. He lived a large life and proved that "It doesn't matter how long your life is, but how large it is."
We had wished dear beloved Kaka a happy birthday and wished for our fortune to keep seeing him for a very long time through this post. But, our wishes were left unfulfilled and he was snatched away from all of his loving fans.
And keeping with our tradition of beautiful songs, here is one of the amazingly melodious tunes from the movie Bawarchi wherein, again Kaka told us about how to live our life serving others and no matter how great we become, our ultimate satisfaction lies only in serving others and to gain the real happiness through small things in life.
"Kisi badi khushi ke intezaar mein … hum yeh chote chote khushiyoon ke mauke kho dete hain"
