Anari(1959)

Its a story about a young innocent righteous person,Raja, who has his ups and downs because of his naivety. Due to his honesty he doesnt have any job and hence unable to pay his rent to his loud but kind-hearted landlady Mrs D'Sa. His honesty of returning a wallet earns him a job from Ramnath. He meets aarti (Nutan) and falls in love with her. The company he works for manufactures medicines and during the flu endemic, they happen to misplace a box of flu medicine with a box poisonous for flu patients. This medicine unfortunately comes by to Mrs D'Sa who dies after its consumption. Raja comes to know about it and this leads to his arrest by the company's head. Aarti knows about it and leaves his uncle,Ramnath's house. Eventually to make the ends meet, Ramnath acknowledges his crime and Raja and Aarti reunite.

All in all a great movie . A must-see be it for the following reason:

mesmerising "anari"(Raj Kapoor's) acts,  charismatic Nutan .
songs: 
"ban ke panchi","Dil ki nazar se","kisiki muskurahaton pe", sab kuch seekha humne","woh chand khila" and "tera jaana, dil ke armaano ka".

                            A marriage for love Vs A marriage for money.

   The story begins with an unemployed lawyer,Ramesh in search for a place to stay. He ends up as  a paying guest . Like a normal hindi movie, the lawyer falls in love with the landlord, Mirza's daughter, Shanti.The happy run ends with the death of the girl's father living them poor and inclusion of her drukard brother-in-law,Prakash and  her rich friend,Chanchal . Chanchal, married to an old but rich successful lawyer lends job to the Ramesh to help him and in turn tries taking advantage of him to provide entertainment to her insipid, unsatisfied life.

    Prakash knows about Chanchal's fantasies and extracts money in return of breaking the Ramesh's love life. In the endeavour, Chanchal's husband , who comes to know about her and evicts her out of her property,is murdered. Prakash blackmails Chanchal and during one such incident Shanti comes in to her rescue but it ends with the Prakash getting murdered and Shanti is accused of it. Rameshr gets to know of it and fights the case for her. After much twists and turns the movie ends with the girl getting exonerated and the couple married and happy.

A very good movie and a must watch for everyone who can bear the black and white cinema for the love of great acting, melodious songs and most important of all,the dialogues of the debate over marriage for love or for money, shown in the first half .The lively and romantic pair of dev anand and lovely nutan and the beautiful scores "Chodd do aachal","Maana janab ne pukara nahi" ,"Nigahein mastana" is a treat to eyes and ears.

Words are meant to be heard but silence requires listening.

Its a story about an unemployed youth who yearns to be rich. Once he finds a drunken industrialist passed out in a gutter. He pounces upon the opportunity to switch places. Incidently, he finds love and enjoys the good satisfied life. But in the end with the turn of events , he realizes the most important essence of happiness and reverts back to his previous life of poverty, unemployment but satisfaction.

When silence speaks,it cannot be left unheard. Its a masterpiece and truly no words for it :) The movie is an overall concoction of a good screenplay,direction and undoubtedly, the acting with Kamal Hassan's charm and Amala's magical innocence.Some scenes were very didactic like when he was thinking of his love with a flower in his hand. Suddenly, money falls out of his pocket along with the flower. When he goes to pick up the money, the flower gets trampled.The end scene when he sees people running after the beggar's money and leaving the dead beggar showed the momentary glimpse of the present world. The movie is a wholesome mixture of comedy,romance ,drama and it does has something to teach.
